  Job Summary: 

Sandridge School District 172 is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher - Choir for grades K-8. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and choral direction, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse learners. This role requires a commitment to fostering musical growth, vocal development, and a love for choral performance among students.

  Key Responsibilities:
  •     

    Develop and implement a comprehensive choir curriculum aligned with school and state standards.

             
  •     

    Direct and lead school choir rehearsals and performances.

             
  •     

    Teach vocal techniques, sight-reading, ear training, and music theory.

             
  •     

    Organize and prepare students for school concerts, competitions, and community performances.

             
  •     

    Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

             
  •     

    Collaborate with other faculty and administration to integrate music into school programs.

             
  •     

    Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and guidance.

             
  •     

    Maintain and manage choir materials, equipment, and resources.

        
  Qualifications & Skills:
  •     

    Bachelor's Degree in Education (Music Required).

             
  •     

    State Teaching Certification (if required).

             
  •     

    Experience directing choirs at the K-8 level.

             
  •     

    Strong piano and conducting skills.

             
  •     

    Knowledge of diverse choral repertoire and vocal techniques.

             
  •     

    Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

             
  •     

    Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying skill levels.

             
  •     

    Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

        
  Preferred Qualifications:
  •     

    Experience with competition preparation and adjudication.

             
  •     

    Familiarity with integrating technology into music education.

             
  •     

    Previous experience working in a school or community choir setting.

        
  Salary: 

Sandridge SD 172 offers a very competitive salary based on experience and education:The District will offer up to seven years of credit on the salary schedule for verified experience in a public school.
