Job Description:

Playback Distribution is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Independent Contractor to support our Finance and Accounting functions. This role plays a key part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, helping ensure the smooth operation of our business. The ideal candidate will bring strong bookkeeping and accounting skills, excellent organization, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic and growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including all journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
  • Monthly Financials: Prepare, update, and maintain monthly financial statements, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, confirm approvals, and manage timely and accurate payments.
  • Accounts Receivable: Generate customer invoices, record incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.
  • Reporting: Provide regular financial reports and supporting analysis to management, highlighting trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all financial activity aligns with company policy and general accounting principles.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with company leadership and external accounting partners to support audits, tax preparation, and other financial processes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance roles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Shopify experience a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $ $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
