We are seeking a Network Engineer 1 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.
ResponsibilitiesThe Network Engineer 1 is responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the organization's network infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the stability and performance of the network. The Network Engineer works to maintain network reliability, resolve issues promptly, and collaborate with other IT teams to ensure that networking systems support the organization's operational needs. Network Engineer will monitor equipment, update configurations, and repair equipment as necessary.
- Cross connecting patch panels; installing hardware and other equipment
- Assisting senior network engineers to identify and resolve network security issues
- Researching new technologies in order to support analysis of existing systems
- Documenting network problems and resolution for future reference
- Bidding and pricing network related projects with senior engineers
Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ACTIVE TS/SCI Clearance is REQUIRED
Education and Experience:
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT) B.S. and 0+ Years of Relevant Experience
- Network + Firewalls and VPN solutions Cisco routers and switches of various models
- Must be able to configure wireless devices
- Systems: Windows, Cisco Systems, UNIX,
- Networking: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, SNMP, STP, DNS
- Familiar with operating systems such as Unix and Microsoft
Recommended Experience and Certifications:
- ITIL 4 Foundation
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals
- VMware Certified Technical Associate
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA A+
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
- Formal SharePoint Certifications or demonstrated experience
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills.
- Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical skills, time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
- Strong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint Skills is a plus.
