Machine Operator - 2nd Shift (GB)&(CNC)

Grayslake, IL

Harger, a leading manufacturer of lightning protection and grounding components, is seeking a Machine Operator (2nd shift) to support our Manufacturing Department. The Machine Operator sets up and operates a variety of machines in order to produce products according to the customers' specifications in a timely and efficient manner.

2nd shift hours: 2:30pm – 11:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various machines and assemble parts as directed by Cell Lead.
  • Read and understand bill of materials and blueprints of drawings.
  • Communicate with Cell Lead on all issues related to discrepancies on drawings or BOM.
  • Work closely with the Quality department to conduct inspections during the production process and verify product meets customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Operate air and power tools as needed in order to aid in the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain productivity at levels that match or exceed production standards.
  • Follow safety rules and use safe procedures.
  • Keep all tools and supplies in work area put away in the appropriate location on a daily basis. Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer knowledge and familiar with Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of various types of tools and measuring equipment: Air and power tools, rulers, tape measures, micrometers, calipers and gages.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Continuous standing, moving and reaching with arms and hands.
