Northern Medical Center is seeking a Mental Health Counselor to join our behavioral health team. This position is open to LMHC as well as MHC-LP. The ideal candidate is patient-centered, clinically strong, and eager to work within an integrated medical setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual psychotherapy and, as appropriate, family or group counseling
  • Conduct intake assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and treatment planning
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, psychiatrists, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in supervision, case conferences, and team meetings as required
  • Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards of practice
  • Support Northern Medical Center's mission of holistic and culturally responsive care

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited program
  • Current NYS LMHC or MHC-LP
  • For MHC-LP candidates: eligibility and commitment to obtaining full licensure
  • Strong clinical and interpersonal skills
  • Experience or interest in integrated care, community mental health, or underserved populations preferred
  • Bilingual candidates (English & Spanish) encouraged to apply

Supervision & Growth

  • Clinical supervision provided for MHC-LP candidates in accordance with NYS requirements
  • LMHCs may have opportunities for increased clinical autonomy and leadership involvement

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $ $40.00 per hour
