Position Overview

Prime Source Technologies is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to provide comprehensive enterprise-level database administration support for mission-critical systems. This position supports a team of Database Administrators responsible for high-availability database services, including daily troubleshooting, system configuration, error triage, and user assistance.

The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with Oracle databases in large enterprise environments, along with a strong understanding of SQL Server, MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS Access systems.

Key Requirement: Minimum 8+ years of database management experience with proficiency in Oracle, SQL Server, MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS Access databases.

Essential Responsibilities

Daily Database Operations

• Perform daily troubleshooting of Oracle Database and related system issues.
• Execute system setup, configuration, and error triage for production environments.
• Respond to Requests for Changes (RFCs) and FootPrints requests related to database operations.
• Support database creation, configuration, and user assistance for internal stakeholders.
• Provide application support for SharePoint and other enterprise systems integration.

Technical Database Management

• Install, configure, and administer Oracle Database environments (12c, 19c, or newer).
• Manage standalone Oracle databases and related infrastructure.
• Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive system monitoring.
• Apply software patches, upgrades, and security configurations.
• Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

Cross-Platform Database Support

• Support SQL Server, MariaDB, MySQL, and MS Access environments.
• Identify, triage, and resolve issues across multiple database platforms.
• Maintain cross-database consistency in collaboration with SQL DBAs.
• Support integrations with applications and enterprise systems.

Reporting and Documentation

• Submit weekly activity reports detailing support actions and outcomes.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations and procedures.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on database requirements.

Required Qualifications

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 8+ years of professional database management experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of corporate experience managing database administrators (preferred).
• Proven expertise in Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Strong background in database performance tuning, replication, and backup strategies.
• Experience with system setup, configuration, and patch management.

Technical Proficiencies

• Oracle Databases: Proficiency with Oracle 12c/19c administration.
• Multi-Platform Database Support: SQL Server, MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS Access.
• Database Management: Ability to create and manage standalone databases.
• Performance Optimization: Skilled in identifying issues, performing server maintenance, and installing software patches.
• Integration Support: Experience with database-integrated platforms such as SharePoint.

Communication and Collaboration

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across remote and hybrid teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to communicate effectively with different levels of employees and management.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot database and application integration issues.

Security and Compliance

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a background investigation.
• Experience with federal IT security and compliance requirements.
• Understanding of government database security protocols.

Preferred Education and Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) required; Oracle Certified Master (OCM) preferred.
• ITIL Foundation or CompTIA Security+ certification preferred.
• Additional certifications in SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL administration are a plus.

Work Environment

• Remote work with occasional on-site support in Washington, D.C.
• Core business hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, with occasional after-hours maintenance.
• Equipment provided: company laptop and RSA secure ID.
