About This Role…

The Quality Assurance department is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical student with a passion for problem-solving to join their team As a QA intern, you'll gain experience with real-world quality problem-solving skills, such as the DMAIC process, while also collaborating with various members of your team and shop floor employees.

Key Projects and Tasks

  • DMAIC Process for Non-Conformances (NCs) – Dive into the Six Sigma DMAIC process to identify and improve a process on Flexco's shop floor Previous projects have helped reduce downtime and improve the flow of production for various departments in the manufacturing plant. Follow the steps of the DMAIC steps to Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control your selected process.
  • Quality Inspections – Strengthen your technical skills and gain experience with following procedures and using equipment to perform inspections on parts. Equipment may include a Tensile Tester, gauges, and a Coordinate Measure Machine (CMM).
  • Document Process Updates – Assist the Quality Team with updating internal quality-related documents, including audit materials and compliance procedures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Learn what it means to work on a cross-functional team to succeed in problem-solving As a Quality Intern, you will be working with various shop floor employees, Product Engineers, and Continuous Improvement Specialists.

North American Internship Program

The Flexco Summer Internship Program has been designed to assist undergraduate students gain exposure to the Manufacturing Industry, provide hands-on experience in their field of interest, and develop professional skills for their future careers.

Interns at Flexco can expect to…

  • Participate in 10-12 weeks of our immersive internship program,
  • Experience the Flow of Flexco – weekly meetings with various departments across the business to understand the importance of their role and function within the organization,
  • Join bi-weekly coffee chats with members of our Senior Leadership Team, hearing about their educational paths, career journeys, and gaining advice and wisdom,
  • Take part in monthly workshops on resume writing, LinkedIn networking, interview do's and don'ts, presentation skills, and Yellow Belt training,
  • And showcase what you've learned with a capstone presentation at the end of the summer – highlight a large project/multiple projects you've worked on and share your experiences with Flexco's values.

Requirements


  2. Full-time, on-site availability (40 hours/week)
  3. Currently enrolled in college/university with Fall 2026 registration confirmed
  4. Must be a rising junior or higher
  5. Major in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or similar Engineering degree

Qualifications

  • Experience using hand tools such as calipers and micrometers is a plus
  • Experience with root cause analysis or Lean Six Sigma tools is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
