Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Repair Technician to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, diagnostics, and maintenance, with experience working in dealership or independent repair environments. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of vehicle repairs, perform routine maintenance, and provide excellent customer service. The Repair Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety and performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify vehicle issues
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, alignments, and brake services
- Repair and replace faulty components including mechanical parts, electrical systems, and engine components
- Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for repairs and maintenance tasks
- Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with manufacturer standards
- Assist customers by explaining repairs needed and providing recommendations for ongoing vehicle maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Keep detailed records of repairs performed and parts used for each vehicle
- Support team efforts in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction through quality service
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive repair or service technician roles, preferably in dealership settings
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, oil changes, alignments, tire service, and general vehicle maintenance
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Dealership experience or automotive service background is highly desirable
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
- Basic knowledge of sales techniques related to recommending maintenance services is a plus
