BUILDING MAINTENANCE/REPAIR TECHNICIAN

Sol's Jewelry and Loan is looking for a hard-working, reliable and punctual Building Maintenance/Repair Technician to join our team. This individual will be responsible for performing all maintenance functions for all six stores.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Performs general plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs to the facility's equipment and systems.
  • Inspects equipment and systems to identify problems or issues.
  • Consults blueprints or building plans to identify best solution to resolve systems or equipment issues.
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems continue operating properly.
  • Obtains services of outside contractors when repairs require specialized training.
  • Performs general cleaning tasks in the facility.
  • Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
  • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
  • Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Verifiable and proven experience as a Maintenance Technician 10+years.
  • Thorough knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
  • Manuel dexterity and good attention to detail.
  • Good physical condition and strength with willingness to work overtime if needed.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certificate in HVAC building maintenance technology or relevant field a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Sales floor or warehouse environment
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Ability to walk up flights of stairs and/or work in confined spaces
  • Periodically works in outside weather conditions
  • Periodically works near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 pounds occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds

  • Availability to work flexible shifts that may include weekend, holiday or evening work as needed

  • Sol's Jewelry and Loan will provide training and personal protective equipment as necessary.
