Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Stocker / Cashier to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing product displays, and efficiently handling transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a diverse customer base. This position offers an opportunity to develop sales skills, gain retail experience, and contribute to a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Duties

  • Operate POS systems accurately for checkout transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
  • Stock shelves and organize merchandise according to merchandising standards
  • Assist customers with product questions and provide product demos when applicable
  • Maintain clean and organized checkout areas and store displays
  • Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance sales opportunities
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate stock needs to management
  • Ensure excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone
  • Supervise or assist with merchandising tasks during shifts as needed
  • Support in maintaining a welcoming environment through friendly communication and customer service excellence

Experience

  • Previous retail sales or cashier experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for transactions and inventory management
  • Experience supervising or leading team members is a plus
  • Bilingual skills beneficial for communicating with a diverse customer base
  • Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer service expertise
  • Ability to perform upselling techniques effectively while maintaining a positive shopping experience
  • Basic math skills necessary for cash handling, retail math calculations, and balancing registers
