Job Summary

Happy Kids Development Center is currently seeking a teacher for our After School Program. In this dynamic role, you will create a safe, engaging environment that fosters childhood development through activities, creative play, and personalized support. Happy Kids is a well-established preschool that offers care to school-age children kindergarten through fifth grade during the hours of 2:30pm to 5:30pm. This is a part-time position working 20 hours a week rotating the shifts 1pm to 5pm or 2pm to 6pm, Monday-Friday. Responsibilities

  • Manage classroom activities with enthusiasm, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Supervise children during homework time, recreational activities, arts and crafts, and free play.
  • Maintain clear behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and respect among students.
  • Provide basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any health or safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Uphold all safety protocols in accordance with childcare regulations and ensure compliance with licensing standards.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, camp counseling, tutoring, babysitting, or after-school programs is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with knowledge of childhood development principles.
  • Certifications in first aid and CPR are advantageous; willingness to obtain these certifications is expected if not already held.
  • Familiarity with sports coaching, theater arts, or other extracurricular activities that enhance child engagement is beneficial.
  • Qualifying Criminal Background check is a must.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
