Service Technician

SUMMARY: Entry level Service Technician position responsible for upkeep of refrigerated Coca-Cola equipment including vending machines, fountain units and glass door coolers. Must have an HVAC or EPA refrigeration license. Will have on the job training.

NOTE: Contract wages are being renegotiated starting late October and starting wages will be more than currently listed after negotiations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned or requested.

  • Install, remove, relocate, repair, and prep refrigerated Coke equipment.
  • Maintain professional team relationship with co-workers and customers, keeping a courteous businesslike demeanor at all times.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Wear Company provided uniforms while on duty, or appropriate dress as instructed by supervisor. Maintain a clean, neat appearance. The Company Appearance Standards Policy applies at all times.
  • Meet customer service expectations through daily communication, problem resolution and appropriate follow up.
  • May need to assist moving heavy vending (or other) equipment with proper equipment. Vending machines can weigh up to 880 pounds empty. Subject to physical ability--these moves are always a 2+ person task.
  • Complete all paperwork (digital, physical, or both) at each stop.
  • Perform service calls as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Report low stock conditions to management.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to management.
  • MUST HAVE an HVAC or EPA refrigerant license.
  • Eventually be included in on-call rotation (currently 1 week every 6 weeks). On-call will include an increase in hourly pay, overtime (if called), and a flat $100 pretax bonus during your on-call week (whether you had calls or not).

Requirements:

COMPETENCIES: Good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skill. Electrical, electronic, mechanical or other technical skills a big plus, but not required.

  • Education and/or Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. 1 year general work experience working with minimal supervision preferred. Schooling or work experience in repair or maintenance helpful.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret written information and instruction in English. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, and multiply, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals and percentages.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions whether written or verbal.
  • Attention to Detail: Close attention to detail required to verify and correctly record serial, model, equipment and outlet numbers.
  • Computer Skills: None.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license, current vehicle liability insurance, and driving record within MVR policy guidelines. HVAC/EPA license required to start.

The employee may be on their feet for multiple hours, moving, bending, lifting, squatting or stretching during the course of the day. Helpers may not be available. The employee may need to push, pull, or otherwise move heavy vending machines that weight up to 880 pounds empty in two-man teams. Hand trucks, lift gates, piano dollies and other tools will be used. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. You will at times be exposed to high temperature conditions by working in outdoor Summer temperatures common to Arkansas & Oklahoma.

Pay: $36, $40,253.60 per year
