About the Role

The company is seeking an Interim Controller to provide additional support through year-end and audit preparation. This is an onsite role (4 days per week) based in the Inland Empire / Orange County area. The ideal consultant will bring a strong manufacturing and inventory background with FIFO costing experience and the ability to manage large volumes of data across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the finance and accounting team through year-end and audit cycles (November–April)
  • Serve as a liaison between accounting and external auditors
  • Oversee costing, inventory, and fixed assets across multiple entities
  • Resolve discrepancies within ERP systems (Oracle E-Business Suite and Pref Suite)
  • Review and improve monthly close documentation and subledger processes
  • Mentor and guide accounting staff, particularly in cost accounting and reconciliation areas
  • Engage with operations leaders and conduct on-site walkthroughs to understand plant-level processes
  • Drive process improvement and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Controller or Senior Accounting Consultant within manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of FIFO costing, inventory management, and cost accounting principles
  • Hands-on operator comfortable with high data volume (20,000+ SKUs)
  • Proficiency in Oracle E-Business Suite (v12) and advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and partner closely with leadership
  • Strong communication skills and ability to mentor team members
