About Us:

Kreative Bears Preschool is a newly established early learning center opening in York, PA. Our program provides play-based, culturally responsive education for children from infancy through Pre-K. We are intentional about relationships, equity, and creating a warm environment where children and educators can grow. As we continue building our founding team, we're looking for someone who brings leadership, consistency, and a love for early childhood education.

Role Summary:

We are hiring an Assistant Preschool Director who will help lead daily operations and support the overall success of the program. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance, supporting staff, building strong family partnerships, and ensuring classrooms reflect developmentally appropriate practice and a positive center culture. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is motivated, organized, and ready to help shape a program from its earliest stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily functioning of classrooms, staffing, and center routines
  • Provide classroom coverage and support teaching teams as needed
  • Open and close the center as part of a rotating leadership schedule
  • Ensure full compliance with OCDEL and DHS regulations
  • Maintain CACFP documentation and food service protocols
  • Supervise and coach teachers, providing ongoing feedback and professional development
  • Communicate with families and assist with enrollment and onboarding
  • Support Keystone STARS documentation and continuous quality improvement efforts
  • Enforce safety, health, and sanitation procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and clear documentation for licensing and program tracking
  • Assist with additional administrative and program responsibilities as assigned by the owner

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with young children (required with Associate's; 1 year required with Bachelor's)
  • Supervisory or administrative experience in an early learning setting (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of PA DHS/OCDEL regulations
  • Familiarity with Keystone STARS quality standards
  • Current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
  • Must successfully pass all required state and federal clearances:
  • FBI Fingerprinting
  • PA Child Abuse Clearance
  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check
