Join Ideal Vacuum Products to build and modernize the software that powers our operations and website. You'll enhance and support VB.NET WinForms applications (inventory management, product listings, internal tools) and develop new features in ASP.NET Core Razor Pages as we migrate off legacy ASP Classic. This role is ideal for developers strong in VB.NET + SQL Server who write efficient T-SQL (queries, views, stored procedures) and can also contribute to ASP.NET Core web features and admin utilities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
WinForms (VB.NET): Internal Line-of-Business Apps
  • Maintain and extend VB.NET WinForms tools for inventory, pricing, product/category management, and content workflows.
  • Refactor legacy modules for performance and reliability; improve UX, validation, and error handling.
  • Design and optimize SQL Server artifacts (tables, indexes, views, stored procedures); build robust data-access layers.
ASP.NET Core: Web & Admin Features
  • Implement Razor Pages for internal admin dashboards and customer-facing features; integrate with existing SQL schemas.
  • Create APIs/handlers for product catalogs, pricing rules, and inventory signals; ensure security and performance.
  • Help retire legacy ASP Classic by porting critical functionality into ASP.NET Core while maintaining parity.
Quality & Collaboration
  • Write clear, maintainable code with source control (Git) and ticket-driven workflows.
  • Author unit/integration tests for key modules; participate in code reviews and release QA.
  • Document database changes, configs, and deployment steps for repeatability.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • Education (Required): BS/BA in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field. High academic performance (GPA 3.5+ preferred).
  • Experience: 1–3 years professional experience building data-driven features in VB.NET WinForms and SQL Server (T-SQL, schema design, performance basics).
  • Web: ASP.NET Core Razor Pages (or MVC) preferred; familiarity with dependency injection, middleware, configuration.
  • Nice to Have: JavaScript/TypeScript basics, HTML/CSS, REST APIs, background jobs, caching.
  • Practices: OOP, clean code, Git, issue tracking, code reviews, and testing fundamentals.
  • Eligibility Note: We are not considering self-taught / bootcamp-only backgrounds for this role.
IMPACT AREAS
  • Inventory accuracy, pricing updates, and catalog scale (10,000+ SKUs).
  • Admin UX for content and category management.
  • Migration from Classic ASP to ASP.NET Core.
SCHEDULE, PAY & BENEFITS
  • Full-time, on-site in Albuquerque, NM (Mon–Fri, approx. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
