JOB GOAL
To provide physical therapy services to identified students under the direction of Physical Therapist and to maintain required records.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant as approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association.
Hold a Florida License to Practice: FS486, Physical Therapy Practice Act.
Ability to perform the functions of the position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide direct services to students and consultative services to parents and teachers.
To participate in development of Individual Educational Programs, if appropriate, and participate in such meetings.
To consult with physical therapists, parents, teachers, physicians and others involved with the care of the child regarding direct with/or indirect service.
To assist in implementing home programs.
To provide supportive services to physical therapists.
To prepare written reports and records as instructed by physical therapists.
To train lower extremity prosthetic skills, prevocational and vocational skills as part of direct service to students.
To participate in inservice training.
To assist in developing public awareness of physical therapy services.
To complete and submit Medicaid forms for eligible students.
To perform assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
To perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality.
To perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the Supervisor or his/her designee may assign.
PHYSICAL DEMAND CLASS:
Medium (M) - Frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 25 pounds or less. Infrequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 26-50 pounds. Continuous walking and/or standing is required to carry out duties

Pay: $39, $81,116.00 per year
