JOB OVERVIEW

The Staff Accountant is responsible for Balance Sheet reconciliations and daily financial transactions postings into the accounting system with emphasis on: Review of rooms revenues and market segments; Audit each business date routing packets; F&B audits – Outlets' complimentary checks, POS to PMS systems balance.

Additionally, the Staff Accountant position will be directly involved into month end closing processes including and not limited to monthly journal entries, sales tax reconciliations, cashier over/short distribution, audit beverage inventory at month end, and assist Director of Finance and ADOF on special projects as needed.

The qualified candidate will be logical, detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, extremely professional and customer service oriented.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follows all local and corporate policies and procedures. Follow SOX guidelines for processing purposes.
  • Participates in month-end account reconciliations and prepare audit documents.
  • Performs any other duties required by the Complex Financial Controller and Assistant Controller.
  • Supports the day-to-day operation and is responsible for the proper supervision including training and administration of respective staff.

  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Faena Hotels and Residences by delivering exceptional guest or client experience.

  • Always maintains an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Able to satisfactorily operate PC computers; familiarity with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel), OPERA, Delphi and/or willingness to learn new software systems.
  • Displays ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Displays ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group encounters when needed.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and address inquiries that are time sensitive.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 to 4 years related experience in accounting with emphasis on hospitality industry.
  • Preferable Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Intermediate to Strong level of proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with SUN Financial System preferable.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a high degree of professional integrity and confidentiality, and work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
  • Strong team player, enthusiastic to learn and accomplish the Finance Department & Faena District overall goals.
