Private Tutor/Teacher (Mobile) - Abeka Curriculum Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced private tutor/teacher to provide personalized education to elementary and middle schooler in the Treasure Coast area. The ideal candidate should be mobile and familiar with the Abeka school curriculum and/or experience with online schooling platforms.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement tailored lesson plans based on the Abeka curriculum guidelines.

  2. Provide one-on-one instruction to both students in various subjects, including but not limited to Mathematics, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.

  3. Assess the student's strengths and weaknesses to create an individualized learning plan.

  4. Utilize engaging teaching strategies and materials to enhance the student's understanding and retention of the curriculum.

  5. Foster a positive and motivating learning environment, encouraging active participation and independent thinking.

  6. Monitor and evaluate the student's progress through regular assessments and provide feedback to both the student and parents.

  7. Collaborate with parents to identify specific areas of improvement and address any concerns or challenges.

  8. Communicate effectively and regularly with parents regarding the student's academic performance, achievements, and areas of growth.

  9. Ensure the student's safety and well-being during tutoring sessions.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (preferred).

  2. Proven experience as a private tutor or teacher, particularly with the Abeka curriculum. Must be licensed/registered in US.

  3. Excellent knowledge of the Abeka curriculum and its implementation strategies.

  4. Familiarity with current teaching methods and educational materials.

  5. Ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet the student's individual learning style.

  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with the student and parents.

  7. Patience, empathy, and a passion for education.

  8. Reliable transportation to travel to the student's location in the Treasure Coast area.

  9. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate tutoring sessions.

  10. Provide references from previous tutoring or teaching positions.
