As a QA Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of Android-based POS systems and restaurant technology platforms. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Security teams to plan and execute testing, maintain a hands-on lab environment, and support production operations.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with Product Owners and Developers to define release testing strategies and coverage
  • Maintain a library of manual and automated test scripts and help developers align on required unit tests
  • Participate in project meetings, daily scrums, and product planning sessions
  • Execute manual and automated tests for Android tablet POS systems and related restaurant applications
  • Perform hands-on testing with hardware that mirrors production restaurant environments
  • Track defects from identification through production release and report on test results
  • Manage and maintain the Louisville-based testing lab and fleet of test devices
  • Support security testing by validating PEN and other security findings
  • Maintain and troubleshoot lab equipment including tablets, switches, routers, monitors, and PCs
  • Set up, repair, and replace hardware as needed to support ongoing testing and development
  • Serve as an escalation point for the customer helpdesk
  • Certify restaurant hardware and act as a subject matter expert for system integrations across the environment

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, preferably supporting POS or hardware-integrated applications
  • Hands-on experience executing manual and automated test scripts
  • Familiarity with Android-based systems, mobile device testing, or embedded systems testing
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware including tablets, switches, routers, monitors, and PCs
  • Experience managing or working within a physical test lab environment
  • Strong understanding of defect lifecycle management and test documentation
  • Experience participating in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (daily standups, planning, etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Security teams to define testing needs
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite in Louisville at least 3 days a week
