Laboratory Analyst – Mold

Laboratory Analyst - Environmental Microbiology & Asbestos Testing
Commerce Township, MI | Full-Time | Onsite | $14-$40/hr
A well-established environmental testing laboratory in the Commerce Township area is seeking a full-time Laboratory Analyst to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, motivated, and interested in hands-on microscopy and analytical work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze mold, fungal, and microbiological samples using optical microscopy
• Train and assist with asbestos analysis (PLM/PCM)
• Review and evaluate materials based on fiber characteristics, optical properties, and visual percentages
• Perform data entry, sample review, equipment maintenance, and calibration
• Follow established QA/QC procedures
• Maintain accurate records and support turnaround time expectations
• Contribute to a clean, organized lab environment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Life Science, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Ability to distinguish colors accurately
• Strong communication skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
• Team-player mindset with the ability to work independently
• Willingness to work extra hours or occasional weekends
• Preferred: Experience in mold identification or asbestos testing (PLM/PCM)
• Local candidates preferred

Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
• Onsite only

Compensation & Benefits

• $14.00-$40.00 per hour
