Position Overvie

wThe Research Programs Manager will execute projects and programs that support achievement of the organization's strategic objectives around advancing research in the field of veterinary internal medicine. This position will collaboratively work with internal and external stakeholders on research initiatives to coordinate and promote activities related to member and resident grants, travel exchange programs, research-related educational programming, consensus statements / endorsed statements. This position also serves as backup support to Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine (JVIM) operations

nsManage grant and travel award programs (Holliday Neurology Resident Research Grant, Knecht Resident Travel Awards, etc.) to includ

  • e:Establish project timelines and coordinating calls for application
  • s.Serve as key staff liaison to selection committees, scheduling committee meetings, providing reports and ensuring the selection process moves forwar
  • d.Configure grants and awards evaluation software platform for committee selectio
  • n.Serve as primary contact for applicants, including sending approved/rejected notifications, necessary paperwork and contracts, and ensuring receipt of necessary reports and deliverable
  • s.Work with the accounting department on the distribution of award fund
  • s.Ensure all historical files are well-organized and kept according to the organization's document retention polic

y.Collaborate on operations of the ACVIM's Journal, Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine (JVIM), to includ

  • e:Serve as primary backup for Publications Specialist, ensuring proper documentation of SOPs and a plan to create redundancies and maintain institutional knowledg
  • e.Serve as key thought partner to elevate the presence of the Journal and meet organization-wide research and discovery objective
  • s.Participate in JVIM Editorial Board and internal JVIM related meeting

s.Serve as primary staff liaison in leading and executing Education and Research Committee (ERC) projects to includ

  • e:Manage all aspects of the ACVIM Endorsed Statements (AES) program in alignment with defined procedure
  • s.Manage the ACVIM Forum Research Exchange program in collaboration with Forum program planning to include topic solicitation, coordinating speaker call, supporting speaker contracting and managing deliverables, collaborating on onsite logistics, staffing exchange sessions and managing session outcome
  • s.Support ERC Committee in ACVIM Forum program ERC track planning / session development, moderator assignments, and program review for ERC approved session
  • s.Collaborate with ACVIM Forum team on ERC Committee review of Research Abstract guidelines, scoring matrix and committee engagement / participation in abstract review
  • s.Seek opportunities to utilize ACVIM research content to drive engagement and support the development of research related competencies among ACVIM Diplomates, members and candidate

s.Serve as primary staff liaison in leading and executing Cardiology Research Committee (CRC) programs to includ

  • e:Act as key staff liaison to committee, including support in scheduling committee meetings, providing reports, documentation review and Board of Regents reportin
  • g.Support CRC and Cardiology Secretary in administration of ACVIM Cardiology Pacemaker Fund Research Grants and Cardiology Professional Training Exchange Program (PTEP
  • ).Set up and update online submission forms and systems to support application submissions and support committee review
  • s.Act as primary support for Cardiology Secretary and back up for applicants, supporting necessary paperwork and contracts, and ensuring receipt of necessary reports and deliverable
  • s.Work with the accounting department on the distribution of funds and marketing on website updates and communication
  • s.Ensure all historical files are well-organized and kept according to the organization's document retention polic
