About the Role

Gigster is seeking a Backend Engineer with strong expertise in TypeScript, REST APIs, and to work directly with one of our customers on building and scaling modern web applications. This role is backend-focused, with ownership of API design, server-side logic, and integrations, while contributing to frontend workflows when needed.

You'll collaborate closely with the customer's engineering team, ensuring best practices, type-safe code, and high-performance solutions. This is a hands-on development role with the opportunity to influence technical direction and contribute to scalable system architecture.


Key Responsibilities

-Design, build, and maintain REST APIs preferred)

-Develop backend services and integrate them into applications

-Write clean, efficient, and type-safe code in TypeScript

-Ensure backend performance, reliability, and security best practices

-Debug, test, and resolve production issues across the stack

-Participate in peer reviews and contribute to architectural decisions

-Collaborate with the client's team to deliver production-ready solutions



What We're Looking For

Technical Expertise: Proven experience building REST APIs and backend services preferred), with strong knowledge of

TypeScript Mastery: Advanced proficiency in writing scalable, type-safe applications.

Backend Skills: Experience with authentication, authorization, and API security.

Collaboration: Comfortable working with distributed teams, contributing to shared codebases, and using Git effectively.

Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.


Nice to Have

-Experience with (bonus, not required)

-Familiarity with cloud deployment environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)

-Exposure to Agile environments and CI/CD pipelines
