Aircraft Mechanic

Responsible for the entire Unmanned Aircraft System, including the modifying and configuring of aircraft and ground control stations to meet customer specified programs. Duties also include executing ground tests and supporting flight test activities. This includes flightline activities such as pre-flight, launch and recovery, and postflight data collection.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, maintain aircraft, engine and ground support equipment in support of test operations and sustainment activities in accordance with maintenance documentation.
- Perform work on airframe and powerplant in support of operations and sustainment activities.
- Develop and write procedures to improve work quality, training and records.
- Assist in training efforts for various customers.
- Assist supervision and management in the implementation and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
- Provide training and oversight to less experienced Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) specialists.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Inspect powerplant and related components at regular intervals adhering to company approved procedures, maintenance manuals, and/or government technical order requirements.
- Repair fuel and/or oil leaks and/or engine problems as required.
- May remove and replace airframe and/or engine components as needed.
- Review records to ensure all required maintenance and documentation is completed in accordance with established company procedures for government and customer technical order requirements.
- May troubleshoot and repair aircraft independently and assist and/or train lesser skilled specialists in troubleshooting.
- May inspect, maintain and operate ground support equipment.
- Perform all launch and recovery tasks of aircraft to include ground operations, pre and postflight items, ground observer responsibilities, and inspect, test, maintain and operate ground support equipment.
- Maintain a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
· Support compliance with GA Global Japan K.K. and program related standard operating procedures and related trade controls compliance processes.
· Other duties as assigned or required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and five or more years of aircraft mechanical maintenance experience.
- JCAB 1st or 2nd Class Aircraft Maintenance or FAA Airframe and Powerplant License may be required.
- Ability to obtain an FAA Class II medical certificate or equivalent.
· English proficiency sufficient to receive applicable training.
· Must possess:
· Considerable knowledge of the job and broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job and product.
· Knowledge of relevant computer applications and operations.
· strong leadership, organization and planning skills.
· strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately document, report and assess situations and make judgments.
· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to travel as required.
· Ability to work any shift and additional hours as required.
