Administrator of multi-employer benefits plans is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for multiple clients in a fast-past, deadline-driven environment. This role requires strong accrual-based general ledger expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to independently research and resolve accounting issues. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle accrual accounting for 4 client entities, including:

· General ledger maintenance

· Month-end and year-end close

· Journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Oversee and reconcile interfund receivable and payables for approximately 15 additional clients

  • Perform bank and investment reconciliations and investigate discrepancies

  • Manage and review accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Prepare financial reports

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls

  • Coordinate with internal team members and management and respond to client inquiries

  • Assist with audits, reporting requirements, and special projects as needed

  • Completes Federal and State tax filings

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum:

  • Strong experience in accrual-based general ledger accounting

  • Hands-on experience with:

· Bank reconciliations

· Accounts Payable

· Accounts Receivable

· Interfund accounting (preferred but not required)

  • Proven ability to manage multiple sets of books simultaneously

  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving and research skills

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with deadlines

-Associate's degree in accounting or related field of study

  • Five years of General Ledger/Accounting experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

  • Experience with working with multiple clients or entities

  • Advanced Excel skills

This is a union-represented position with a standard work schedule of 7:45 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, including a 45-minute meal period. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, the position will be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, consisting of 1 remote workday and 4 in-office workdays, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
