Job Overview:

The Community Inclusion Coordinator (CIC) develops and manages community relationships, serving as an ambassador to expand inclusive opportunities. This role blends communication, public relations, and project management. The CIC plans inclusive community activities for our program participants while fostering a welcoming environment and supports community integration, ensuring all participants feel valued. Strong leadership and a passion for community development are required.

About Us:

The Community Connection Program (CCP) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides social communication and behavioral support for young adults with communication and behavioral challenges, including autism spectrum disorder. CCP offers instruction in community integration skills, identifies community resources, and facilitates social, recreational, cultural, educational, and volunteer/vocational training opportunities. The program supports individuals who benefit from trained staff providing ratios such as 1:1, 2:3, or 1:2, assisting them to engage with their community. The primary emphasis is on offering opportunities for learning community independence and inclusion skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Community Program Planning – Develop monthly and weekly activity schedules for a community-based program supporting inclusion for adults with autism. Identify new opportunities for participants in the program.
  • Record necessary details and create supporting materials for each activity for staff use.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining community partnerships by collaborating with organizations that host inclusion activities and negotiating participant opportunities within budget constraints.
  • Support marketing, advertising, outreach, partnership recruitment, materials development, website management, and promotion of the program's objectives in the community.
  • Participate in Outreach and Development Department tasks, including identifying and maintaining relationships with funders, donors, and partners; researching grant writing opportunities; assisting with fundraising and events; and attending outreach activities.
  • Provide logistical assistance in planning and implementing organizational and community events to ensure effective execution.
  • Support community budgeting processes.
  • Maintain clear communication with staff, leadership, and members of the broader community.
  • Utilize digital communication and social media platforms to support community engagement.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by Program Department Manager or Directors in alignment with short- and long-term departmental and organizational goals.
  • Possess familiarity with nonprofit organizations.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as requested by Directors.
  • May be asked to assist with reporting to the Board of Directors.

*Potential Additional Responsibility for more hours: Offer direct support as a Community Coach to program participants in various community settings.

Professional Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, including preparing presentations, proposals, and official correspondence.
  • Experience in public relations and promotional activities, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the capacity to work with varied populations and stakeholders.
  • Effective organizational abilities and attention to detail, capable of managing concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Leadership experience in team management.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for engaging diverse groups.
  • Ability to address challenges through problem-solving.
  • Experience in event planning or community outreach is preferred.
  • Competence in using digital communication tools and social media for community engagement.
  • Interest in fostering inclusive communities that value diversity and collaboration.

Education & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field of study, particularly in the nonprofit sector is preferred AND/OR at least two years of direct experience in the field

Certifications:

  • Certified in CPR/First Aid within three months of hire.
  • SafetyCare/Crisis Intervention trained as requested by Director

General Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check/live scan fingerprints and health screening/tuberculosis test.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
