Role Summary

The Dual-Rate Supervisor works in two capacities depending on the needs of the poker room. When scheduled as a dealer, this role delivers fast, accurate, and professional poker dealing. When scheduled as a floor supervisor, this role oversees live games, resolves disputes, enforces rules, manages dealer performance, and ensures an exceptional guest experience.

Core Responsibilities

When Working as a Dealer

  • Deal Texas Hold'em and Omaha with accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.

  • Maintain proper betting procedures, control the action, and push pots correctly.

  • Track buy-ins, seating, and player changes according to room procedures.

  • Provide excellent guest service and maintain a calm, friendly table environment.

  • Protect the integrity of the game by monitoring for irregularities or rule violations.

  • Handle chips, pots, rake/fees, and transactions with precision.

When Working as a Floor Supervisor

  • Monitor all active poker games and ensure adherence to rules and house policies.

  • Identify and prevent cheating, collusion, chip dumping, soft play, or suspicious behavior.

  • Approve seat changes, table balancing, must-moves, and table openings/closures.

  • Address irregularities such as misdeals, exposed cards, premature action, and multi-pot issues.

  • Make authoritative, fair, and consistent floor decisions in real time.

  • De-escalate disputes and maintain a professional, player-friendly environment.

  • Oversee dealer performance, pace, accuracy, and professionalism.

  • Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and correction to dealers.

  • Coordinate with hosts, cage, security, and surveillance as needed.

  • Complete promotional tracking, logs, documentation, and shift-end reporting.

Cash, Chip & Documentation Management

  • Ensure accurate handling of pots, buy-ins, color-ups, and chip control.

  • Communicate clearly with cage/cashier regarding transactions, jackpots, and validations.

  • Maintain accurate records of promotional payouts, player issues, and incident reports.

Compliance, Safety & Communication

  • Follow all state and local gaming regulations.

  • Ensure proper ID checks, age requirements, and compliance protocols.

  • Work collaboratively with security and surveillance to maintain integrity and safety.

  • Document and escalate incidents when appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience as a poker dealer (Hold'em required; Omaha preferred).

  • Ability to confidently perform both dealing and floor supervision duties.

  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Strong knowledge of poker rules, procedures, and standard rulings.

  • Ability to make fair, consistent decisions under pressure.

  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask across multiple tables.

  • Professionalism, reliability, and strong integrity.

  • Comfortable standing and moving for the duration of a shift.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous dual-rate or supervisory experience.

  • Familiarity with PokerAtlas.

  • Experience with promotions, jackpots, and player-tracking systems.

  • Leadership experience in gaming or hospitality environments.
