A growing, privately held company in South Orange County is seeking a high-performing Sr. Assistant Controller to join their leadership team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, confident in leading accounting operations, and looking for long-term stability with an established business. This is a fully onsite position with standard hours of 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

What You'll Do


• Assist the Controller in overseeing corporate accounting operations across multiple locations


• Lead, mentor, and develop an accounting team to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and strong communication


• Support all financial reporting activities including month-end and year-end close, GAAP compliance, bank reconciliations, financial statements, inventory/cost accounting, payroll, budgeting, and forecasting


• Prepare materials and provide direct support for external audits and annual CPA-audited financial statements


• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and business processes


• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations


• Collaborate effectively with company leadership and department heads across the organization


• Handle occasional travel to additional locations as needed

Must-Haves


• Active CPA license required


• 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with strong month-end/year-end close expertise


• Prior experience leading or managing a team


• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience


• Highly collaborative, low-ego, positive attitude, and able to work directly with leadership


• Fully onsite in South Orange County — must be commutable to Aliso Viejo (no hybrid or remote options)
