Position Overview

The Connections Director/Pastor is primarily responsible for guiding new attendees from their first visit through engagement in the discipleship process. This includes overseeing and providing vision for the Connections Team, the Café, the Parking Lot, and the Lobby experience.

In collaboration with the Lead and Executive Pastors, the Connections Pastor will develop strategies to connect people into the life of Frontline Church. Working closely with the Discipleship Pastor, the Connections Pastor will help transition people from casual or regular attenders to active, committed members of Frontline Church.

As this role is intended to serve as a pastoral role for a candidate who is not yet ordained, the eventual responsibilities include baptisms, occasional biblical counseling, and general shepherding as needed. If not yet ordained, the person would need to be open to pursuing credentialing. This role has significant Sunday-morning responsibilities, including a regular, consistent presence in the lobbies before, during, and after services, as well as meeting with prospective volunteers outside regular business hours.

Key Performance Indicators

  1. Number of individuals attending Newcomers lunch (or other newcomer connection point as decided by the Connections Pastor)

  2. % of individuals who come to a Newcomers event who are placed in small groups, serving opportunities, or discipleship pathways.

  3. Number of new volunteers added to the Connections Team.

  4. Number of volunteers transitioned into significant leadership responsibilities, living out intentional apprenticeship value.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with the Executive Pastor to coordinate and communicate.
  • Build and lead the Connections Team to create a welcoming environment and foster community connections.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team and promote innovation through partnership.
  • Teach and develop leaders to build first-level connections within the church, with a long-term transition to the Discipleship Pastor role.
  • Facilitate deeper volunteer engagement and ensure participants' spiritual health.
  • Develop and sustain workflows within the church management software to engage new and existing volunteers.
  • Assist the worship pastor and tech director to create a cohesive, welcoming environment from the parking lot to the lobby to the worship center.
  • Organize and oversee newcomer events, including the Newcomers Lunch.
  • Empower and envision teams to create events and ministry opportunities that connect people to church life.
  • Participate in the Ministry Leadership Team (MLT).
  • Assist in planning budgets for ministry programs that support lifelong faith formation.
  • Develop and review quarterly Ministry Action Plans (MAP) with the Executive Pastor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45, $50,000.00 per year
