Description:

· To ensure high-quality instruction linked to the school and district strategic goals for all students with a focus on students with disabilities.

· To provide a rigorous academic environment that actively engages students; incorporates best educational practices; creates an inclusive environment that addresses the needs of all learners and supports the social/emotional development of the students.

· The ESE Coordinator/Teacher is responsible for overseeing and implementing the Exceptional Student Education program in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. This dual role involves both administrative coordination and direct instruction to ensure that students with disabilities receive a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE).

Student Achievement Metrics

· 90% of Pre-K-2nd students are on/above grade level in reading, language, and math.

· 85% of 1st-2nd students are on/above grade level in reading, language, and math.

· 80% of students achieve Level 3, 50% achieve Level 4, and 20% at Level 5 on FAST exams.

· Junior Class ACT Average Score of 21

· 100% of BPA seniors meet the requirements for Graduation.

· 50% of all students in Intervention grow two or more years in Reading and Math.

Responsibilities

Coordinator Responsibilities:

· Serve as the school's primary liaison for all ESE-related matters.

· Ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, ADA, and Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) regulations.

· Coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and re-evaluations in collaboration with parents, school staff, and related service providers.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date ESE records, documentation, and reports (including FTE and compliance monitoring).

· Submit timely data and documentation for FLDOE and district reporting, audits, and state reporting systems (e.g., Focus, FASTER).

· Provide training and professional development to general education staff regarding IEP implementation, accommodations, and instructional strategies.

· Act as the primary contact during audits or program monitoring by the district or state.

· Coordinate with service providers (SLPs, OTs, PTs, psychologists) for service delivery and documentation.

Teaching Responsibilities:

· Develop, write, and implement IEPs that reflect appropriate goals, accommodations, and services.

· Provide direct instruction in ESE support facilitation, pull-out, or self-contained settings as required.

· Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and maintain data for reporting and review.

· Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure differentiation and support within the classroom.

· Participate in MTSS/RTI processes and provide interventions as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

● An earned bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution; Florida certification in at least one area of exceptionality

● Provide support to general education teachers and students with disabilities to provide consultative instruction, as identified through each student's IEP.

Knowledge and Skills

● Knowledge of curriculum and instruction

● Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior.

● Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

● Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment.

● Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.

● Ability to write IEPs

● Knowledge of the referral, evaluation, and placement process.
