Job Summary:

We are seeking an apprentice to join our design team who possesses math skills with the ability to operate a scientific calculator and use formulas for dimensions, with the ability to learn AutoCAD (Computer aided design). This position will include learning to take measurements for sprinkler and fire alarm systems, AutoCAD, and learning sprinkler and fire alarm code. This position also includes performing hydrant flow tests and participation in client and project meetings. The long-term goal is for the candidate to test for and receive NICET (National institute Certification of Engineering technology) design certification.

Duties:

  • Perform hydrant flow tests
  • Survey jobs
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine system requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and standards
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently

    -Maintain accurate records of work performed

Experience:

- Math skills including the ability to operate a scientific calculator and use formulas for dimensions

- Ability to read and understand drawings/blueprints

- Basic office and computer skills

- Building dimension measurements

- Customer service

- AutoCAD (preferred, not required)
