St. Elizabeth School is a nonpublic, special education school serving students grades 1 – 12, ages The School is seeking a Classroom Assistant to join our dynamic team. St. Elizabeth School employees enjoy a healthy work/life balance and a supportive, collaborative work setting.

The starting pay for Classroom Assistants with a (Bachelor's degree) $20/hourly or $35,250 yearly, (Associate's degree) between $28,200-$24,900 yearly, (non-degreed) between $26,400-$28,200 yearly. Classroom Assistants have guaranteed hours and are paid for snow days, school holidays, winter and spring break, and additional other non-working days during the 11-month school year.

May serve as a teaching assistant, program assistant, and/or one-to-one assistant

FUNCTION:

Assists with:

  • classroom preparation, organization and instruction
  • data collection and record keeping
  • escort and monitor students during the change of class
  • behavior management and student support throughout the school day
  • Attend and participate in general staff meetings, weekly team meetings, conferences and in-services.
  • Work with students requiring individual and/or small group attention
  • Work as a team player to create a positive learning atmosphere.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma Required. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
  • Some experience with special populations preferred
  • Successful completion of a drug screening and Criminal Background Check
  • Valid driver's license with willingness to drive own vehicle or school vehicle for school business.
