REMOTE BCBA SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION
The Remote BCBA Supervisor is responsible for handling clinical responsibilities for their patients. BCBA Supervisors provide both on-site and off-site supervision and training to Behavior Technicians. They are also responsible for monitoring data and progress on patient's goals to ensure ideal clinical outcomes.
Essential components of this position are listed below, but are subject to change at the discretion of Pathways to Potential. This job description outlines the essential job functions but does not provide an exhaustive list of all duties that may be assigned.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reports to Lead BCBA Supervisor
- Meet with Lead BCBA Supervisor on a weekly basis to discuss reports, clinical prescription fulfillment, parent support, family or staff concerns, funding source communication or updates, productivity, etc.
- Effectively carry a caseload with a variety of ages, repertoires, and funding source requirements.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments under supervision, gaining mastery of a variety of protocols (i.e., ABBLS, VB-MAPP, BDI, Vineland).
- Write initial treatment plans and progress reports based on assessment results, and ensure all programs effectively target short- and long-term goals, generalization, and community integration.
- Develop behavior reduction and skill acquisition plans based on assessment results, discuss assessment findings, goals, and clinical recommendations with families.
- Regularly monitor progress data, make data-based changes, complete ongoing re-assessment probes, and complete formal monthly data reviews.
- Complete monthly family treatment guidance in accordance with clinical recommendation and funding sources requirements, including discussing data reviews and clinical recommendations with families.
- Train and supervise behavior technicians to implement plans by providing on-site supervision for each behavior technician with each patient at least once a month.
- Ensure all funding source requirements are satisfied for each patient, including proper documentation and submitting all required re-authorization files in a timely manner.
- Ensure behavior technicians are keeping accurate data and appointment notes.
- Attend collaborative meetings with patients' schools, other service providers, and family as necessary for co-treatment, and provide observations and recommendations about patients and programs.
- Provide required supervision for Registered Behavior Technicians.
- Develop and implement staff management goals, including disciplinary feedback as needed.
- Provide competency checks for behavior technicians, monitor behavior technicians' adherence to policy and procedures, and communicate with Lead BCBA Supervisor regarding staff professional development concerns.
- Meet Pathways to Potential billable hours requirement by completing various billable clinical activities described above.
- Assist with or conduct new staff training when required, including on-site support during supervision overlaps.
- Maintain all administrative records, patient files, and electronic files in accordance with corporation and HIPAA requirements.
- Attend and collaborate with colleagues during Pathways to Potential's monthly supervisor meetings.
- Ensure the supervision calendar is up to date every month with all direct 1:1 appointments, supervision appointments, and meetings.
- Attend professional development conferences related to the field of autism and/or behavior analysis.
- Ensure Behavior Technicians understand their goals and their responsibilities and are given necessary clinical support to be able to carry them out.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree in psychology, special education, applied behavior analysis, or related fields
- Current BCBA certification
- Completion of BACB's supervision training requirements preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a BCBA, working with children with autism
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Energetic personality who loves working with kids
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $ $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week
