SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Sales Representative III under minimal supervision, responsible for the direct sale of company products or services to accounts within an assigned geographic area or industry segment. Calls on prospective customers in person and provides technical information and/or demonstrates company products. Quotes prices to customers and may have administrative duties. Responsible for account development or maintenance. Responsible for expanding existing account and territory coverage. Handles more complex accounts and larger territories than the lower level sales representatives. May provide guidance to lower level sales representatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to meet specific sales, territorial, and market goals.
  • Call on existing and prospective customers in person and by phone, email, and fax.
  • Provide technical information and /or demonstrations of PASCO equipment, curriculum, software and over-all solutions for State DOE, local science education organizations, district level decision-makers, and teachers.
  • Required to attend trade shows, conferences, and workshops.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations to large groups.
  • Responsible for meeting revenue goals for the region.
  • Manages and provides an accurate pipeline forecast to sales management.
  • Able to provide forward looking revenue forecasts based on the sales pipeline.
  • Ability to analyze and forecast sales using a formal, structured approach. The forecast must consider run rate business, new product introductions, funding levels and sales pipeline.
  • Able to analyze and prepare a seasonal bookings profile for their region.
  • Extracts data from QAD as required for all territory analysis including bookings history and product mix.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four-year college degree in science or engineering, or equivalent
  • Five to seven years of sales experience
  • Teaching experience desired
