Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine commitment to improving patient well-being. This role involves assisting with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and supporting medical staff in delivering comprehensive care. Experience with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs, is highly valued. The CNA will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems and document patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper handling of medical records and documentation
- Provide specialized care for patients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory impairments, including behavioral health management
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety in sterile environments such as operating rooms or ICU settings
- Collaborate closely with medical teams in acute care, emergency medicine, ICU, or post-acute settings to deliver seamless patient care
- Assist with catheter care, phlebotomy procedures, and other clinical tasks as required by the healthcare facility's protocols
- Support patients in rehabilitation or long-term care environments such as assisted living or nursing homes by providing compassionate caregiving and emotional support
- Follow all safety protocols related to infectious disease care and implement appropriate precautions during patient interactions
Experience
- Prior experience working in hospital medicine, critical care units (ICU), emergency departments (ER), or trauma centers (Level I & II Trauma Centers) is preferred
- Demonstrated experience with specialized populations including geriatrics, pediatrics (including PICU), behavioral health patients, or individuals with disabilities
- Proficiency in medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and basic life support (BLS) certification is required
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for accurate documentation
- Experience working in home & community care settings or outpatient clinics is advantageous
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control practices essential for maintaining sterile environments during procedures such as catheter care or wound management
- Ability to work effectively within fast-paced environments including urgent care facilities or hospital inpatient units
