Duties

  • Prepare and cook grilled items such as meats, vegetables, and specialty dishes according to established recipes and standards
  • Assist with food prep tasks including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grill station and prep areas in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety of all menu items
  • Support menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance for upcoming service periods
  • Ensure all food is cooked to the correct temperature and presented attractively for service
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to deliver excellent food service and uphold high standards of culinary excellence

Experience

  • Previous experience working as a cook in a restaurant or food service environment, preferably with grill or line cooking responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, including knife skills and meal assembly
  • Familiarity with food safety protocols and proper sanitation practices
  • Experience in catering or large-scale food production is a plus
  • Background in dietary department or dietary aide roles can be advantageous for understanding special dietary needs
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting
  • Culinary experience that includes menu planning, food handling, and cooking across various cuisines
