Makan Yacht Group is looking for a motivated Assistant Technician to join our team You'll support skilled marine technicians in performing repairs and maintenance on luxury yachts across Marina del Rey and nearby marinas.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in the maritime industry or looking to grow their skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems, or marine diesel engines.

Schedule

  • Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week
  • 4-Day Work Week | You choose which day you'd like off
  • 8 Hours of Guaranteed Overtime per week
  • Weekends are typically not required

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in repairs and general maintenance on yachts
  • Help with lifting, holding materials/tools, and cleaning work areas
  • Use hand and power tools
  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing marine diesel inboard/outboard engines
  • Support electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs
  • Assist in purchasing parts and supplies as needed
  • Track and summarize tasks in our timekeeping system

Qualifications:

  • Sailing or Rigging Experience required
  • Must be able to get on and off vessels safely and comfortably
  • Interested in a long-term career in the marine industry
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and grow
