Bilingual Volunteer Child Advocates are needed at CASA of Middlesex County
2 days ago
Each year, hundreds of Middlesex County children spend time in foster care. Often confused, frightened and caught in multiple government systems, these children need a dedicated, caring adult looking out solely for their best interests. By donating an average of just few hours a week, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) make a real and lasting difference in the lives of these vulnerable children.
CASA of Middlesex County is seeking volunteers to help the many Middlesex County children who lack an advocate in their corner. We train and support our volunteers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed in helping children in foster care. As a CASA volunteer, you will be part of a supportive network of people dedicated to changing lives.
Children living in foster care have suffered trauma, abuse and neglect. They are often confused and fearful of their uncertain future. The well-intentioned systems designed to serve these vulnerable kids frequently overlook the needs of an individual child. That's where CASA volunteers come in. These dedicated individuals communicate with the courts, schools, healthcare providers and social services to ensure each child gets the needed help while in foster care and finds a safe, forever home as soon as possible.
CASA volunteers act as the "eyes and ears" of the family court system, providing critical information to help judges make the best decisions for children who have been removed from their biological families due to abuse or neglect.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Middlesex County is seeking bilingual, Spanish-speaking volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in foster care.
Applicants do not need to be native speakers but must be able to communicate effectively in both Spanish and English. We provide training and support to our volunteers, equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed in helping these children. As a CASA volunteer, you will be part of a supportive network dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children.
CASA volunteers spend time with the child, communicate with various individuals in the child's life, including teachers, doctors, family members, and caregivers, and make recommendations to the family court to ensure that the best decisions are made regarding the child's living arrangements, necessary services, education, and other critical aspects of their lives. An ideal CASA volunteer is passionate about justice, possesses clear and critical thinking skills, and has a genuine interest in child welfare.
You must be at least 21 years old and agree to undergo background checks. Volunteers commit to working with their assigned children for a minimum of 18 months, preferably throughout the duration of the case. CASA volunteers come from diverse backgrounds, encompassing a wide range of professional, educational, and ethnic experiences. There are over 75,000 CASA volunteers nationwide.
