The Lead Medical Assistant collaborates with the Medical Assistant Supervisor in an office setting to ensure quality patient care.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Under the direction and supervision of the Medical Assistant Supervisor provides a leadership role amongst the medical assistants.
  • Monitors patient flow
  • Manages maintenance of equipment
  • Orders clinical supplies
  • Runs and scribes for practitioners
  • Set up and care for stress and/or echo-stress test patients
  • Provides assistance with Holter monitors
  • Ensure HIPPA guidelines are always followed.
  • Oversees and coordinates the scribes in the clinical department.
  • Monitor the performance of the department.
  • Maintains and implements all policies and procedures.
  • Willing to take on additional tasks/work while continuing to manage daily workflow.
  • Assist Supervisor with any and all tasks related to the medical assistants as needed.
  • Be a liaison to the supervisor for any medical assistant issues.
  • Performs other related duties, which may be inclusive, but not listed in the job description.
  • Must travel to all NSC sites.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a multi-physician practice preferred
  • Competence with computerized health records
  • Ability to work and communicate well with other medical professionals
  • Preference given to those with Cardiac Experience
  • BLS certified.
  • Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information.
  • Good judgment, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail.
  • Good attendance is required.
