Crate & Pallet Builder

- Construct shipping crates to protect finished product during transit.
- Build custom wooden crates and pallets based on measurements, drawings, or verbal instructions.
- Measure and cut lumber accurately using table saws, chop saws, and hand tools.
- Assemble crates and pallets using nail guns, screws, brackets, and other fasteners.
- Design internal bracing and supports to protect heavy metal components during transport.
- Ensure all items are secured properly to prevent movement, rubbing, or paint damage.
- Inspect finished crates to ensure structural integrity and compliance with company or customer specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or packing instructions.
- Select appropriate materials (lumber type, foam, blocking, straps, protective wrap).
- Use protective packaging materials such as foam, felt, shrink wrap, and blocking to prevent metal parts from scratching or chipping.
- Operate woodworking and shop equipment safely and efficiently.
- Label and document crates for shipping, including part numbers, weights, and handling instructions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tool upkeep and scrap management
- Collaborate with shipping and production teams to meet packing and shipping deadlines.
- Follow all safety procedures, including PPE use and safe material handling practices.
