With a multi-GW pipeline of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, the company is helping power the future of clean energy infrastructure, including hyperscale AI data centers.

Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced Interconnection Electrical Engineer to lead utility-scale interconnection efforts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across engineering, utility, and client teams to deliver high-impact energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit interconnection applications for BESS projects across ERCOT, SPP, MISO, and other ISOs

  • Develop and review one-line diagrams for high-voltage substations (115kV–345kV)

  • Conduct steady-state, dynamic stability, and short-circuit studies using PSS/E and ETAP

  • Build and refine PSS/E and PSCAD models for energy storage systems

  • Collaborate with utilities, ISO representatives, and prospective clients to streamline approvals

  • Support HV/MV layout design for hybrid projects (BESS, Wind, PV, Gas)

  • Use tools like Google Earth, ArcGIS, and Enverus to optimize substation siting and transmission routing

  • Ensure compliance with IEEE, NERC, FERC, and jurisdictional safety standards

  • Coordinate with internal teams to meet project deliverables and timelines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • 4+ years of experience in interconnection, transmission planning, or power systems modeling (3+ years with Master's)

  • Strong proficiency in PSS/E modeling and analysis

  • Experience drafting one-line diagrams and substation configurations

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, ETAP, and Enverus

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with clients and utilities

  • Comfortable in a startup environment with multiple concurrent projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE license in Texas

  • Experience with WinIGS or CDEGS for grounding studies

  • Prior work with hyperscale data centers

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $110, $150,000.00 per year
