This role includes preparing medications, assisting with patient readiness, supporting the provider during interventional procedures, monitoring patients, and coordinating post-procedure care. The position requires frequent travel to affiliated clinics in Kentucky to maintain consistent, high-quality care across all sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support

  • Prepare and draw up medications for pain management procedures according to provider orders and within Kentucky LPN scope of practice.
  • Assist the provider during interventional procedures by ensuring medications, equipment, and supplies are ready.
  • Collaborate with the Radiologic Technologist during fluoroscopy-guided procedures to ensure patient safety and efficiency.
  • Conduct pre-procedure safety checks (patient identity, allergies, procedural consent).
  • Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure under provider direction.
  • Maintain compliance with infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and safety standards.

Patient Care Coordination

  • Verify patients are off anticoagulants or other contraindicated medications prior to procedures.
  • Assist with screening for contraindications to interventional pain management.
  • Provide patient education on preparation, procedure expectations, and post-procedure recovery instructions.
  • Document all care activities accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR).

Administrative Duties

  • Perform pre-procedure screening calls with patients.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and follow-up visits with clinic staff.
  • Manage daily procedure lists, patient records, and provider workflow documentation.
  • Maintain medication inventory, ensure proper storage, and report discrepancies according to policy.
  • Participate in quality assurance and compliance audits as directed by leadership.

Travel

  • Travel regularly to satellite clinic sites in Louisville, Lexington, Hebron, and other assigned locations.

Qualifications:

  • Current Kentucky LPN License in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience in interventional pain management or outpatient procedural support highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology (within LPN scope), medication preparation, and patient monitoring.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems and medical documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly within Kentucky
