Trucking Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced internal Trucking Operations Manager to oversee and manage the logistics of our company's transportation-related activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all transportation operations are running efficiently and that all policies, procedures, and safety regulations are followed. The candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing the routing, scheduling and daily transportation services and trucking operations of the department; assure compliance with time schedules and applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations; train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff. You will be expected to lead and inspire a team of drivers and logistics personnel and ensure that all transportation-related issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner.

The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of transportation management systems and possess excellent analytical skills, enabling them to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance transportation operations

Essential Functions:

• Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of trucks.
• Plan, organize, and manage staff members to ensure work is completed and consistent with company standards
• Arrange repairs and routine maintenance of the trucks in collaboration with our maintenance department.
• Comply with transportation-related policies, as well as safety rules and government regulations
• Work with transportation-related government regulations
• Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits
• Oversee the daily operations of the trucking department including scheduling, dispatching, and routing of trucks and drivers
• Manage and track inventory of materials and supplies needed for trucking operations including fuel, tires, and maintenance equipment
• Hire, train, and supervise truck drivers and other support staff ensuring they have the necessary skills and qualifications to perform their jobs
• Continuously evaluate and improve the trucking department's operations and processes to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability
• Maintain accurate records of trucking operations, including mileage, fuel usage, and driver logs, and submit required reports to management

• Perform other job-related duties

• 5 Years of work experience in trucking

• 3 Years of supervisory experience
• Competency in Microsoft computer programs
• Extensive work experience in trucking operations
• Understanding of transport management systems and warehouse management software
• Valid CA DL/Clean drivers record required
