Overview
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auto body repair and restoration, with hands-on experience in various techniques and tools used in the automotive industry. This role requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to provide excellent customer service while delivering high-quality work.
Duties
- Perform auto body repairs including frame straightening, panel replacement, and refinishing.
- Utilize MIG welding and fabrication techniques to repair or replace damaged components.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance and inspections to ensure all repairs meet safety standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and airless paint spraying equipment for various repair tasks.
- Execute detailing tasks to restore vehicles to their original condition.
- Engage in auto restoration projects, ensuring attention to historical accuracy when required.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and assist in heavy lifting when necessary.
- Provide accurate auto estimating for repairs and communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, fabrication, and mechanical knowledge is essential.
- Experience with auto body repair techniques including sheet metal work, soldering, and auto painting.
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes and vehicle maintenance practices.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting as needed during repairs and restorations.
- Knowledge of detailing processes and the use of various automotive tools is advantageous.
