STARK is seeking to hire an experienced Luxury Carpet Sales Professional with a proven track-record selling to the trades (Interior Designers, Architectural Firms) for our Stamford, CT Showroom.

Base pay commensurate with experience. Eligible for additional sales commission and/or sales incentive bonus
Job Responsibilities

  • Prospect new trade business and walk-in clients, and follow up on assigned open accounts.
  • Advise clients on product attributes and qualities based on their needs through networking, market analysis, and personal judgment.
  • Identify potential clients and create strategic, client-centric marketing plans (including visit schedules and frequency).
  • Cold call potential clients using customized sales and marketing scripts tailored to each client.
  • Prepare pre- and post-visit reports, assess purchasing potential, and deliver analysis to senior management.
  • Collaborate on developing the company's core messaging to clients.
  • Lead and organize client-specific events, including strategy, budgeting, and invitee management.
  • Prepare sales documents to initiate and close sales; assist with layout creation for installations from a design perspective.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Carpet sales experience preferred; general sales experience preferred (training provided).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must have strong relationships with interior design clientele and a genuine interest in the interior design trade.
  • Advanced knowledge of carpet qualities, attributes, and manufacturing techniques preferred.
  • B.A./B.S. degree in Interior Design or related field and a minimum of 2 years of carpet sales experience to the trade, or a minimum of 5 years of carpet sales experience to the trade in lieu of educational requirements.
