Job Summary

NAES is seeking an experienced Lead Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Technician to support commissioning and startup activities at a simple-cycle gas turbine facility in Houston, TX. This role is focused on hands-on execution of I&C commissioning tasks, including loop checks, functional testing, troubleshooting, and system verification using established procedures and check sheets. The Lead I&C Technician will work closely with the Commissioning Manager, contractors, and vendors to ensure safe, efficient startup and turnover of plant systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Execute loop checks, functional testing, and commissioning activities for instrumentation and control systems. - Perform hands-on troubleshooting of field instruments, control loops, and Siemens T3000-based control systems. - Coordinate daily I&C activities with contractors, vendors, and commissioning personnel. - Support punch list identification and closeout related to I&C systems. - Verify proper installation, calibration, and operation of instrumentation in accordance with project procedures and safety standards. - Communicate daily progress, issues, and resolutions to the Commissioning Manager. - Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork throughout all commissioning activities.

Job Requirements

- Strong technical experience in I&C commissioning, startup, or maintenance within power generation or related industrial facilities. - Proven experience performing loop checks, functional testing, and field troubleshooting. - Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and commissioning documentation. - Comfortable working in a field-based role with extended hours during commissioning activities. - Strong communication skills and a collaborative, easy-to-work-with approach.. Education / Experience: - 5+ years of hands-on I&C experience supporting power generation projects. - Prior lead or senior-level I&C technician experience preferred. - Technical training or formal education in instrumentation, controls, or electrical systems preferred but not required.
