Job Description

The Cardiac Stepdown Nurse will provide specialized care to patients recovering from cardiac procedures and conditions. The nurse will work in a fast-paced environment and will handle a range of patient diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, and post-operative care from various cardiac surgeries.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor cardiac telemetry and vital signs of patients.
  • Administer medications and manage cardiac drips, including titration.
  • Perform sheath removals and manage post-operative care.
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac complications.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care.
  • Participate in weekend coverage and potential disaster response as needed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor required.
  • Traveler experience preferred unless candidate has over 24 months of cardiac experience.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
  • NIHSS certification preferred.
