Job Overview

Shriners Children's Ohio has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join our Outpatient Clinic team

In this role, you'll support our medical and nursing staff in providing compassionate, family-centered care to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, adolescents, and young adults. You'll play a key part in the patient intake process — collecting vital information such as medical history, height and weight, vital signs, allergies, medications, and previous procedures — helping our team deliver the best possible care to every child.

Hours:  This Monday - Friday position will work 40 hours per week. 



Responsibilities

  • The Medical Assistant assists in rooming patients, taking vital signs, measurements, preparation of exam rooms, stocking supplies, assisting the physician, interacting with other departments and documentation in the electronic medical record. 
  • Assists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes.
  • Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Responsible for prepping clinic to be prepared for that day's clinic to include monitoring supplies and equipment and ordering supplies.
  • Utilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Two years' pediatric care experience

Preferred:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
