Job position: Policy Analyst

Location: Washington, DC (in-person)

Job description: The Policy Analyst will be required to study and become familiar with a broad range of international economic, financial regulatory, and geopolitical issues. The position requires significant research and writing, monitoring and analyzing a wide array of global policy trends and news, and helping the principals respond to client questions and draft client memos. The small size of the firm allows the Policy Analyst to interact daily with the firm's principals. While the firm has an office manager responsible for administrative and office support duties, the Policy Analyst also will assist occasionally with such tasks.

Salary and benefits:base salary of $95,000-$110,000, commensurate with experience, with potential additional $5,000 bonus based on performance; one-time $2,000 transition allowance; 401k contribution (5 percent of total pay); and health insurance.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and two to three years of work experience, or Master's degree and one to two years of work experience.
  • Strong researcher and writer with the ability to distill and synthesize complex information on short deadlines; dependable; energetic; and entrepreneurial.
  • Demonstrated background and interest in international public policy and economic policy issues.

Preferred qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge of or demonstrated interest in one or more of the following areas and experience in preparing written analyses of legislation or policy proposals related to these topics:

  • Current geopolitical issues, including US-China relationship, Southeast and East Asian geopolitics, transatlantic trade and economic relations, US sanctions policy, and the intersection of national security and economic policy;
  • International trade and investment and economic security policy, including tariffs, free trade agreements, export controls, and investment restrictions; and
  • Digital and tech policy issues, including AI regulation, data security and privacy, and digital trade.
