Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Mechanic Assistant/Shop Hand to support our maintenance and repair team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in automotive or equipment repair within a professional shop environment. The role involves assisting with mechanical tasks, maintaining shop cleanliness, and supporting technicians to ensure efficient operations. Candidates should be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and capable of working safely in a busy workshop setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist mechanics with routine maintenance and repair tasks on vehicles or equipment
  • Use basic tools and equipment, including ohmmeters, to diagnose electrical issues
  • Prepare work areas by cleaning and organizing tools and parts
  • Support in the inspection of parts and systems for wear or damage
  • Help with the transportation of parts, tools, and equipment within the shop
  • Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment
  • Perform general shop hand duties such as sweeping, trash removal, and inventory organization

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of electrical testing tools such as an ohmmeter is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
  • Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team
  • Physical ability to lift moderate loads and stand for extended periods
  • Prior experience in a mechanic shop or technical training is a plus but not mandatory
  • Reliable transportation to and from the shop location

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
