San Francisco, California, United States EverOps Full time
What is EverOps?

Some of the world's most advanced and innovative global enterprise software and tech companies have trouble finding engineering partners that have the ability to perform highly complex deliveries and services that match their rigorous standards. These teams need a partner that can co-own problems from within their own IT Networking and Infrastructure environments. Enter EverOps – the premier Embedded Service Provider. We partner directly with our customer engineering and operations teams to help them assess and address a variety of delivery and service related issues.

The Challenge

EverOps is looking for a Senior Network Engineer who has the ability to manage projects autonomously – with little direction, possesses a deep understanding of enterprise IT systems and cloud infrastructure, and understands ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) processes. You'll leverage strong communication and collaboration while focusing on client satisfaction and high availability.

The Mission

As a Network and Infrastructure Engineer with EverOps you will join our U.S.-Based Virtual Operating Center (your home office), working with a team of dynamic engineers to manage multiple customers' production cloud environments. The work we do is uniquely dynamic and each day brings new challenges – Imagine a world where you won't be siloed into one aspect or facet of IT. Our existing team of engineers has a deep understanding of our customer environments and are eager to empower, ramp up, and mentor each new hire so that success is achieved.

What You'll Do:
  • Design and implement network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and VPN, across multiple cloud platforms

  • Configure and maintain network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls

  • Troubleshoot network issues and provide technical support

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud computing services across multiple cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP

  • Configure and maintain cloud services, such as VPC, security groups, and IAM, across multiple cloud platforms

  • Ensure security and compliance of the network infrastructure and cloud services across multiple cloud platforms

  • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and perform regular backups

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and security, to ensure smooth operations of the network and cloud services across multiple cloud platforms

You Have
  • 5+ years of experience in networking and at least one major cloud platform, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing

  • Strong experience in configuring and maintaining network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls

  • Coding Experience (Python, YAML, GO)

  • Proficiency in cloud services across multiple cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and cloud management tools, such as AWS CLI and Azure PowerShell

  • Familiarity with security best practices, such as access control, encryption, and monitoring

  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Datadog

  • Experience with Infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation)

  • Customer focused approach to managing tickets and tasks

  • Leadership: Can lead a team working multiple tasks to a cohesive and timely conclusion

  • Ownership: Unwilling to let a project fail if it has your name on it

  • Project leadership: Able to design and deliver a full project that takes into account not just technology, but how administrators, management, and employees need to interact with a new function or system

  • Judgment: Able to see priorities and delegate appropriately

  • Familiar and comfortable with on-call responsibilities

Extra Awesome
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Industry certifications (CCNP, CCIE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, or equivalent are a plus)

  • Experience with source control, build management, monitoring, configuration management, log management, and scripting/web languages (Bash, etc.)

  • Strong desire to learn new technologies

  • Industry certifications (AWS, Red Hat, Hashicorp, Google Cloud, etc.)

  • Experience in SaaS companies and startup environments

Benefits
  • 100% remote workplace – We've been remote since Day 1

  • Unlimited Paid Time Off

  • Equity – If you display ownership of the work you're doing you'll become a true owner of the company

  • 401K with company contribution

  • Company sponsored healthcare

  • Competitive compensation

  • Opportunities to accelerate professional growth with access to training and certification programs
